Hmm, I think you're right, it is loaded - towards asking the question! And I guess in that, as you say for some, right now, just having a job is an achievement. And actually, if that's the case, there's a lot to respect in that awareness. For others, I'm hoping they can ask the question, and see that there may be something else out there. Or possibly within themselves.

Hi Sukh. Not sure this lands well with me. I think I understand what you are saying but it feels rather loaded. Your humdrum ain't my humdrum.

The every day, the humdrum, the security, the "nice" well paid job, the provision of food, warmth and security for the family, those things can be highly fulfilling. That may be the path that someone has self determined.
For anyone who has had a period of unemployment, particularly in this market, or financial worries of a scale where losing home and worrying about the cost of the most basic requirements; the humdrum oh it can be a joy.

In my view fulfilment is an inner state that allows the path we tread to become enriched by our internalised perspective.

Broc, I have met many for whom greatness comes from just staying and persisting. Greatness too is contained in small acts of thoughtfulness, kindness, modesty and unselfishness.

A great, timely, and timeless post. You hit on the questions so many ask and so few answer. Important questions, crucial answers. Terrifying answers. Our friends and neighbors might suggest it's better to play small and succeed in our shrunkenness than play bigger and risk failing in our greatness. But then, they're justifying their own choices.
